Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 應用物理研究所 === 94 === In the thesis, we will introduce the construction and features of the cesium magneto-optical trap (MOT). At present, we have succeeded to catch the amount of Cs atoms in a magneto-optical trap about 4 × 108; and thetemperature of Cs atoms is about 30 μK. One of the purposes that we construct a magneto-optical trap is to study the interaction between comb laser and ultracold atoms. The other purpose is to perform sympathetic cooling of molecules by laser-cooled cesium atoms in a microwave trap which trap both species. First, we will introduce laser cooling. The second chapter will discuss the establishment of experiment system. The third chapter will display the results of experiments and discussion. The description of the conclusion and prospect is in last chapter.
