The spindle-bearing system consists of elastic shaft, rigid disks and bearing which has damping and stiffness. During analysis of the shaft elements, the research will probe into the beam of Timoshenko. The model of the shaft element includes the effects of translation inertia, rotatory inertia, gyroscopic moments, and shear deformations. The article will probe into shear deformed effect. In order to confirm the reliability of the analysis formula, this paper chooses to analyze the simple uniform rotor. This research makes the modal testing to compare its natural frequencies and mode shapes in bending with the testing results. Then this research obtains critical speeds by using the finite element mode. Finally, the paper further analyze the spindle-bearing system and draw the Campbell diagram, mode shape and the critical speed versus bearing stiffness diagram. These results of analysis are the basis of the high-speed aerostatic spindle design modification.
