Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 94 === Assessing Effectiveness of Integrating Problem- Solving Strategy with RME on 7th Grade Student Problem-Solving Performance and Anxiety: An Action Research. Abstract The purpose of the study was to investigate effectiveness of integrating problem-solving instruction strategy with RME on student problem-solving performance and anxiety. In this study, problem-solving instruction strategy was developed on the basis of Polya’s problem-solving steps and Cyert’s ten strategies. An action research was adopted. Thirty-three 7th grade students of researcher’s mathematics class was invited to participate in the study. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected and analyzed. The findings of the study are: (1)After researcher’s teaching improvement through action research, the students mathematics problem-solving ability have significant improved; for low achievement students, their ability for understanding mathematics problem and ability for planning solving problem have significant improved, on the other hand, for high, and middle achievement students, their ability for planning and carry out problem solving have significant improved. (2)Student anxiety in mathematics has shown lower than before, though, there is no significant difference. However, according to researcher’s classroom observation and student interview, the integrating problem-solving instruction strategy with RME, can not only expand student’s mathematics thinking but also increase student confidence in learning mathematics. According to findings of the study, suggestions for classroom implementation and future research are given in the article.
