The study was to explore the variables of different learners’ backgrounds in these schools. A number of pedagogical implications were addressed at the end of the study. The subjects of the study were 592 learners of 6 community colleges and Labor University in Taichung in the first semester in academic year 2005. The researcher employed a questionnaire method with data collection and analysis on learner motivation and learner satisfaction toward Taichung Community Colleges and Labor University. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. Learners of the Community College and Labor University have a high regard for learner motivations. Among all of them, the motivation of acquiring knowledge is the strongest. 2. Learners of the Community College and Labor University have high satisfactions toward learning. Among all of them, the teacher’s instruction is the highest. 3. Different background of variables will lead to different learner motivation. 4. Different background of variables will lead to different learner satisfaction. 5. Learner motivation and satisfaction toward Community Colleges and Labor University show significant relationship in various levels. 6. The higher learner motivation of subjects, the higher learner satisfaction. Based upon the findings, some pedagogical suggestions were provided. To the administration of the Community Colleges: (1) The lifelong learning activities should continue to promote and take root; (2) The establishment of new classrooms and facilities to fulfill adult teaching needs should be encouraged; and (3) Curricula which suit student needs and attract more participation should be enhanced to promote the satisfaction towards municipal administration. To the administration of the Labor University: (1) The adjacent learning facilities, parking spaces should be expanded; (2) Provide more administrative supports and counseling for entering higher level of education, employment, or job-related counseling; and (3) Social service concept needs to be pressed forward.
