It’s one of the basic lens-form and many complicated lens are belonging to its derivatives. As a beginner, it must be further investigate and probe into its design principle in order to establish a well-organized starting points The basic work divides into two parts in our research; Firstly, the triplet design methodology which was described in detail by Kingslake in his book ‘’Lens Design Fundamentals’’ was examined by way of repeating his example, in order to get acquaintance with his instructions. Secondly, after finding the preliminary arrangement of a triplet, we utilize the software Zemax to thick and optimize the lens. One could even modify the MTF curve of the lens according to the demand of the system. Finally, a specification of the lens was carried out in comparison with collected patents, which was served as our experimental design goal.
