The traditional round tube evaporator and condenser in an air-conditioner will be replaced by flat tube parallel flow evaporator. In this project not only design the flat tube parallel flow evaporator but also test the flat tube evaporator. The compressor, expansion valve and other components in the air-conditioner will also be modified according to the changes of heat transfer and pressure loss of the heat exchangers. This project will be performed by the cooperation with the TECO Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd. The ME department will design and test the flat tube evaporator and condenser and the TECO will take charge of other components.
