It seems that new period style has been gradually forming. However, on the one hand, in the past studies of style, media were mostly not considered as a factor of style formation. On the other hand, in the studies of media, media inferences on style were also rarely discussed. Followed the former viewpoints, a comparison between conventional and computer media in architecture field was conducted in this paper to probe the correlation between media and style. The method included three parts. First, a case study was performed to acquire related phenomena. Second, an experiment of design works selected in the fore case study was accomplished to verify the correlation. Third, a protocol analysis of design development was conducted to exploit interactions among cognitions and media underlying design processes. The findings suggest that media serve not only as tools of design representation, but also as factors of style creation in which outcome features and interactions among design cognitions are commonly affected.
