There are a lot of factors which might affect the forwarding speed of the dragon boat in competition which include wind power, boat shape, water flow, paddling apparatuses, etc. In this experiment, two groups of dragon boat participants from junior high school are performing paddling force experiment and the paddling kinetic parameters of two groups of participants are compared. The participants receiving the test can be divided into excellent group (n=5) and normal group (n=5). The main research tool is a “Dragon boat (in sitting posture) paddling force measure apparatus” which is composed of “Tensiometer”, ”Amplifier”, ”USB signals retrieving box”, ”PC” and my own design—“Movable Seat.”; the obtained data is then performed with T test of independent sample, T test of coupled sample and Pearsons product-moment correlation analysis by EXCEL software and SPSS For Windows package software. Our results are: (1) The experiment shows that the paddling force measurement apparatus for dragon boat has certain reliability and effectiveness. (2) There is an obvious difference between excellent group and normal group in terms of “maximum force”, “average force” and “paddling frequency for single paddle”; however, obvious difference is not reached in “impulse”, “slope” and “the occurrence time of maximum force”. (3) Positive relationship exists between “maximum force” and “average force” or “slope” in the two groups of participants, but a negative relationship existed to “paddling frequency for single paddle”; “average force” forms a positive relationship to “slope” but a negative relationship to “paddling frequency for single paddle”.
