Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 土木工程學系 === 94 === A slope locates at the entrance road of Chi-Nan University, Taiwan, connecting campus and Tai-21 Road. The natural slope is 80-m high. It is reinforced with geogrid at the slope toe. The height of the reinforced portion ranges between 20 m and 40 m at different sections. A slope failure occurred during construction of the reinforced slope in 1996. A massive failure of the reinforced slope occurred at the section of 40 m high after the strike of Chi-Chi earthquake on September 21, 1999. The failure portion was rehabilitated. However, another failure of the reinforced slope occurred at another section of 20 m high after the strike of a heavy rainstorm on July 3, 2004. The information and the history of this slope are provided in this paper. A through field observation and stability analyses were performed to examine the suitability of design, construction, and material of this slope, as well as to discuss the failure mechanism. Some lessons regarding to site investigation, construction and design of high reinforced geosynthetic slope are learned from the study on this case. In addition, this study discusses the influence of different parameter to the stability of high-steep reinforcing slope through parametric analysis. In the end, by the result of the multiple parametric study, discussions and suggestions were made to the design and stability of high-steep reinforcing slope.
The original geologic investigation was found to have harmful situation by analysis in the failure case, it led the disign of the reinforced slope which doesn't consider the exsist of the clay layer and doesn't site drainage facilities inside the slope. That is the causality for failure several times in further. There are three types of parameter collocations for the occur of failure and the suggestions of increase stability were found by the parameter analysis.
