The capabilities are skills that integrate all of a business’ resources and make use of these resources to raise productivity. By differentiating resources and capabilities effectively, businesses are able to obtain their own unique competence and develop effective strategies. As a result of enforcing these effective strategies, business can create new resources and capabilities.
Nowadays, most businesses are not able to confirm their holding capabilities effectively, and also lack a systematize framework to analyze. Thus, business resources and capabilities cannot be integrated.
This study provides a portfolio decision support system that integrates management capabilities, and this involves mainly two stages. First, the study focuses on the management capabilities model provided by Ansoff and McDonnell (1990) and modifies the attributes weight of the model with fuzzy preference relation. Then, according to the management capability gap, it uses fuzzy mathematics programming to select strategies portfolio. Finally, this study implements a web-based decision support system prototype to help managers make decision more efficiently.
