The key point of this approach is the usage of an economic, fast, precisely, and versatile stress wave nondestructive inspection method, for the sounding of the defects in and the characteristics of soil strata, according to the characteristics reflect from the signals captured, via wave propagating theory for a further analyses and identification, then the finding results will be expected to compared with that of soil boring method.  Having simulated and studied by the numerical Finite Element Method, then the in-situ test were performed by using digital signal capturing facilities, and all the results were compared with those obtained from soil boring method; the results show that the characteristics of signals reflected from soil strata coincide with theory derivations, in addition, the wave-let transformation offer as an powerful processing tool for signal captured, which makes a more easy identifications of the characteristics of signals, then enhance the applicability of nondestructive inspection by stress wave.
