Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 電機工程學系所 === 94 === This thesis aims at developing methodologies and techniques for system design and navigation of a tour-guide robot. The module approach and integrated system engineering method are used to construct such a practical tour guide robot used for a museum. After several kinds well-established tour guide robot in the world are surveyed, a solid, feasible and pragmatic system design and configuration of the robot is then presented. Based on the designed system structure and functionalities, we have achieved the design and implementation of the mobile platform for the robot, the selection and installation of the sensors for robot navigation, the interfacing techniques of these sensors, the navigation subsystem using a laser scanner, the two-PC (personal computer) computation subsystem, and the design of the touch-screen man-machine interaction subsystem. Several experiments are conducted to show the feasibility and efficacy of the proposed methods and techniques for the tour-guide robot.
