Description
Summary:碩士 === 中興大學 === 科技管理研究所 === 94 === Nowadays it is essential for manufacturers to satisfy customers’ rapidly changing needs. One of the competitive advantages is based on customization. As a result, increasing product variety and providing satisfactory customer service are the two major challenges for manufacturers to compete in the global market. How companies respond to constantly changing demands with the lowest cost incorporates concepts such as mass customization, lead-time reduction, outsourcing, redesigning products and processes so as to delaying the point of product differentiation. Through the above supply chain strategies, firms could improve their performance, increase inventory turnover, respond to customers’ needs rapidly, and enhance customer satisfaction, for example. This study develops a simple model to analyze the relationship between control of the supply chain and firm performance. We find out that postponement and outsourcing influence firms’ performance. In addition, the interaction effects between product characteristics and the environmental dynamism and supply chain strategies on control of the supply chain-performance relationship were examined. Last, we derived managerial insights and conducted related discussions. Possible future studies in postponement and outsourcing are also proposed.
