The compressive strength of RMSM ranges from 10 to 50 kgf/cm2. The influence of the addition of slag on the exposed length-strength relationship is also discussed. A powder actuated gun with white cartridge was used as a penetration tool in the study. The experimental results show that the selected powder actuated gun is suitable for the penetration tests with a gun head 2.5 cm away from the test surface. A good relationship between the exposed length and the compressive strength was obtained for RMSM with strength ranging between 7 ~ 84 kgf/cm2.
