Author: Ying-Ji Chen Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among the principals’ leadership model, work pressure, and emotional management on the teachers of elementary schools in Taiwan.A self-administerd questionnaire titled “ The relationships among principals’ leadership model, teacher work pressure, and emotional management ” was used to gather the research data. A total of 672 elementary school teachers in Miaoli, Taichung, Nantou, Changhua, Yunlin county and Taichung City in central Taiwan were chosen randomly to answer the survey questionnaires. T-test, One-way ANOVA, Person’s Production-Moment Correlation were used for the data analysis. The conclusions of the study are presented as follows: 1. The principals’ leadership model in central Taiwan tended to democratic. 2. The degree of work pressure that perceived by the teachers in central Taiwan are characterized as moderate. 3. The degree of emotional management that perceived by the teachers in central Taiwan are high. 4. Inasmuch as different principals’ leadership model, five variable levels of work pressure existed. 5. Significant differences were found in the elementary school teachers’ work pressure in terms of personal background. 6. Significant differences were found in the elementary school teachers’ work pressure in terms of schools’ environmental background. 7. Significant differences were found in the elementary school teachers’ emotional management in terms of personal background. 8. No significant differences were found in the elementary school teachers’ emotional management in terms of schools’ environmental background. 9. There were a negative relationship between emotional management and work pressure among elementary school teachers. Based on the conclusions of this study, several recommendations are made to assist the educational administrators, the teacher educators to understand the conditions and future schemes among the principals’ leadership model, work pressure, and emotional management in elementary schools.
