The disasters usually lead to landslide. Therefore, the most important research subject is how to prevent and reduce the damage cost to the lowest point. A well configured alarm system can immediately help lower-reaches residents to be evacuated from the hillside danger zone before the disasters damage them. Rainfall volume gauge and groundwater level gauge are the most common tools. Because of the improvement of tiny electro-mechanical equipment and wireless communication technology, they are able to provide low-energy consumption and multiple points transmitting Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The study of WSN is able to apply on the related research aspects. The more common WLAN, widespread HiNet signal transmitting stations, and affordable GPRS usage fee, are making the immediate signal transmission to be accomplished at low expense. Therefore, this research combine (1) sensor: rainfall volume gauge and groundwater level gauge, (2) storage and communication equipment: WSN, Embedded System, and General Packet Radio Service technique (GPRS) to set up a complete WSN wireless surveillance system. After the real field testing, when the surveillance area is narrow and observing equipments are in high density, the WSN can establish multiple transmitting points to assure the network is unimpeded. Meanwhile, due to the low consumption of electricity, the system reduces the spending of electricity bill and cut down the cost. Furthermore, the low-cost wireless integrated package service gives low expenditure on the immediate transmitting service.
