The measures for this study included a questionnaire for investigating the subjects’ English reading motivation and a GEPT reading comprehension test for investigating students’ text comprehension. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, the exploratory factor analysis, and Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. The study found the technological university (non-English major) students seemed demonstrated Preference for Challenge while the general university (English major) students demonstrated Curiosity in reading. Furthermore, the study revealed that only students'' social factor was related to their reading comprehension in both technological university and general university.
