碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 設計管理研究所碩士班 === 94 === With the changes of times and improvement of public’s living standards in these years, local governments in Taiwan need an identification logo with good shape awareness in order to create their identification images to facilitate public’s identification and strengthen their competition advantages. In addition to improve governments’ overall images, the identification logo could further facilitate organization’s inner administration efficiency and consolidate common consensus to cope with diverse requirements of the society. Through literature discussion, this research collects and arranges based on five aspects, namely, “Semiology Theory”, “Logo Concept”, “Image Perception of Design”, “Relevant Literature of Local Government’s Logo”, and “Relevant Domestic and Foreign Researches”. Secondly is to discuss the difference and preference of testees with and without design background on the image perception of each county’s logo design through semantic differential, and realize the major factors that influence the difference from factor analysis, and then create a perception space. Following results are obtained from test: 4.There are difference between testees with design background and without design background on the image perception and preference of each county’s logo design. Testees with design background are better in the ability to identify logo design, and their ideal evaluation requirements on each logo design are also higher. 5.All testees’ image perceptions of logo design are influenced by “Fashion Factor” and “Comprehensibility Elements”, in which the “Fashion Factor” is the major to evaluate tested logo. 6.The logo design with concrete, irregular shape, English characters or deformed Chinese characters has more positive preference evaluation; whereas the logo design that applies abstract, semi-abstract, Chinese characters, circle, and traditional plum blossom patterns has more negative preference evaluation. The purpose of this research is to propose more objective and detail references for each governmental institution, relevant design practices and teaching institutions in logo design.
