We also look to the Korea culture industry for some lessons about how to improve Taiwan movie and drama producing and marketing.
This study focuses on the media culture industry in Korea. Its main methodology is a literature analysis.
In order to analyze the rise of the Korean media culture industry in depth, this study uses the viewpoint of the nationalism, the main internal factor in developing the media culture industry. We hope to future understand how the Korean media culture industry developed through an internal and external analysis.
We find that the Korean media culture industry was able to rapidly develop because the Korean government created a well-designed producing and marketing policy, established a suitably competitive environment, and actively cultivated talents. Furthermore, enterprises in Korea positively invest in the media culture industry because of support from the Korean government. Most important, Korean has a strong national consciousness that supports the development of the cultural industry development and protects cultural relics, a tendency that has become even stranger after the “financial crisis”.
Thus the Taiwanese government should institute positive policies, create a healthy environment for the cultural industry, and establish a unified institution for making overall plans about media cultural industry. Furthermore, the government should promote the desire of enterprises to make investment, make personnel training conform to the demand of enterprises, and create new consumer markets that may work in combination with cultural industries.
