In the research procession from historical documents, fieldworks and analysis and comparison, describes the door art and culture in the developments of immigration, the format of traditional architectures and extended of it. The content contains seven chapters and eighteen sections, except chapter one Preface and Chapter seven Conclusion, the main body of a court verdict is divided in order that '' literature, gift related to door are made and probed into '' and '' the faith, custom related to door are probed into '' two respects are described: The prologue of Door culture has opened from the horizontal line, vertical line, left-falling stroke and right-falling stroke in Chinese pictograph character. In beginning from research the form and the origin of the character of Door, by generating to flash back to the ancient life style, advanced into the classification and function of the Door by distinguish by Door decorations on Door color, studs, rings. This narrate the feudal ethical code in ancient Chinese through the action to collect and arrange the code in the historical documentaries to discuss the classification concept development of feudal ethical code and the differences between dynasties shifts. Secondly by “ The Legend of Door God ” sketch the harness in stylish and the way to secure the door of each Door God and custom to discuss “door god ”of door, through “offering sacrifice to and worship the Door God” to easily see the significant cultures at different areas of it. This helps to state the differences in religion for Taiwan people of two nationalities. Then in chapter of “the signboard meaning on the door”, by “ couplet on the door”, “ door draw”, “ door writing paper”, “ horizontal inscribed board”, “ goal post hall number “ literature and meaning, Taiwan of folk culture displayed. Probe into the meaning of exorcising evil spirits and Taiwan door common exorcising evil spirits thing in“ the idea of exorcising evil spirits on the door”, the taboo is held on the geomantic omen view and door of Lu Ban''s yardstick to probe into traditional door of China. Through doing fieldwork, this chapter recites the existing traditional house architecture, city gate and government office architecture & the general outline of traditional education architecture. From the dynasties of Ming and Ching, the traditional architecture in northern Taiwan can reflectthe regional feature of door culture in particular space and timing; and it influences to the current architecture in Taiwan and also extend to the door art culture development. In the procedure of doing fieldwork, the door culture in modern Taiwan that maintained from the dynasties of Ming and Ching still exists in this moment. That closely associates with people life, belief, folk ethics and culture, especially the concepts to the feudal ethical code and the evil-avoiding are the most important. This research of the door culture in traditional architecture enhances that the Chinese people believe in following culture meanings like “obey the feudal ethical code”, “ stress on education”, “respect God”, “ believe in evil-avoiding” and the traditional concept of evil-avoiding.
