The capacity of classes for each school and ensuring the priority of the students in the region of school shall be considered as the government delimitate the region of schools. The parents of students try to register for residence to get into the famous schools, because they always concern the learning achievements of their children and consider the quality of school is uneven. The result is those famous schools will not satisfy the above quota of entrance population that is due to registering for residence. For the above reason, it deserves to research what is the knowledge and comment of “the school choice of parents”. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the parent’s opinion for school option from kindergartens in Tainan City. This study is conducted by the survey research method with a self-administrated questionnaire. The major findings of this study are as following: 1. The parents of kindergarten do not really understand the meaning and current situation of “the school option of parents ”. 2. The higher acceptance of the meaning of “ the school option of parents” is to choose the school that is their children able to attend. 3. The parents of kindergarten have high identification of the thought on “the school option of parents”. 4. Under “the school option of parents”, there is also a certain standard of school region, and it is not allow to crossing the administrative division. 5. The government shall provide the parents with the chance of choosing alternative school, through increasing the elementary school with distinguishing feature. 6. The object and feature of education for each school should be designed by itself. 7. The national information center of the school option of parents should be established. 8. The cash provided by the government should not subsidize the families that choose the private schools to study in. 9. The position of parents on practicing “the school option of parents” through elementary school is positive agreement. In the future, the first important thing that the school should be effort is to focusing on its diverse feature and try to abolishing the united tests system clean to examine basically.
