Self-actualization is on the top of Maslow’ hierarchy of needs. A path to self-actualization is by the way of experiencing beneficial leisure activities. Therefore, leisure can be considered as the ultimate goal that people pursue in their life. It is not surprising that more and more people in Taiwan participate in the groups which provide leisure activities with the aim of self-development in recent years. After joining the activities, participants not only relax themselves, but also elevate their self-actualization. With the participation, learning, and adequate training, they also become the leaders of leisure activities. In the past, most research focuses on the participants of adventure education activities rather than the leaders concerning leisure benefits. However, the research on the leaders in Taiwan is extraordinarily limited. Consequently, the aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between leisure benefits and self-actualization among the adventure education leaders in Taiwan. This research uses the survey method with a self-administrated questionnaire. The research population is the adventure education leaders in Taiwan. The data are collected in Taiwan in March, 2005. The research findings are: 1.Adventure education leaders do receive the high level of leisure benefits. The three types of leisure benefits are ranked by the level of benefit receiving from high to low as the followers: social benefits, mental benefits, and physical benefits. 2.With 3.5 years of activity leading, the frequency of activity leading is positively related to leisure benefits. 3.There is positive correlation between the seniority of the adventure education leaders and self-actualization. 4.The social benefits and the mental benefits of the adventure education leaders are positively related to self-actualization, respectively. Leading the adventure education activities can itself be regarded as a kind of sincere leisure. When reaching certain seniority, with the strong sense of leisure benefits increasing, the leaders can continue to elevate their self-actualization so as to be mentally and physically healthy. none 徐淑瑤 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 83 zh-TW |
