It has been implemented in the industry field a lot such as the molding tools, the medical science, the fan design, the aerospace, and the automobile. The first step of reverse processes is to search the points. One of the key issue of the problem is how to acquire points data accurately that influences the reliability of the reverse engineering. Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is used to measure complicated curves and surfaces. The advantages of CMM are it’s precision and the automatic measuring process. The structures of the CMM can be divided into the machine structure and the probe system. In the machine part, the measured errors are induced by vibrating or other reason produce displacement, and the temperature relation and so on. In the probe part, the errors are induced by the measured direction. In the study, CMM is used as the measure machine. This study only reduced theerrors of the probe system part on the automatic measurement. The path of probe and the normal vector of touch point is consistent after iterative measurement. As well, a triangular or a rectangular loop is divided by the proposed method. The combination of the loop divided method and the iterative measurement algorithm lead to a more reliable measured method by CMM.
