On fed carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been used as cold-cathode materials. Its high aspect ratio and extremely small diameter, hollowness, together with high mechanical strength and high chemical stability, are advantageous for use in field emitter. Carbon nanotubes can be synthesized by arc discharge, laser ablation, and chemical vapor deposition process. Chemical vapor deposition did not need the expensive equipment and the process was easy, so in this study we synthesized carbon nanotubes by chemical vapor deposition. We have synthesized carbon nanotubes by thermal chemical vapor deposition of CH4 on Fe-coated Si substrates. We hope to produce high yield and high quality carbon nanotubes by thermal chemical vapor. After we observed the field emission characteristics of carbon nanotubes film, we will try to make a field emission electron source by carbon nanotubes. We expect to make a new lighting device which is more brightness and lower power than the conventions lighting device. Jon-Lian Kwo Chin-Liang Chen 郭鐘亮 陳志良 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 78 zh-TW |
