| Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 94 === With the advancement in computer and information technology, GIS application in many areas has become more popular. Electronic map, as the key component in GIS technology, is an essential part in developing intelligent transportation system that can display vehicle location and traffic status, guide vehicles, and control traffics.
Our study focuses on the improvement of the functions of electronic maps, and the analysis and comparison of some functions in a few software packages. We have added and improved a few functions, such as displaying roads of various grades in different widths, moving the map by “grabbing” it, switching to full window display, zooming by a frame, and measuring distance between two points. We then provide discussion on the problems and design principles during our construction, to be used by interested party.
