QFD is an approach reached systematically by two Japanese professors: Akao Yozi and Mizuno Sigeilu. By cross-functional cooperation among task forces, they adopt a structural method called “House of Quality (HOQ)”. In the method, relations between the quality-related demands from customers and the product quality features are presented by dualistic matrix, which is called “Relationship Matrix”. Through the investigation of the customer demands. The industry will also know how to sufficiently live up to customers’ expectations through product design.
In light of the domestic automotive market has reached its saturation point, every car dealer has been fully aware that its industry has marched into “a new era of quality”. The management of the cars industry should sensitively grasp the market tendency of products and know the competitive edges of the enterprise, so that if is possible to successfully reach the organizational goal and win the market share.
On the other hand, during to the demands of the automotive market, the dissertation presents a systematic thinking rooted on the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach in an attempt to upgrade automotive industry’s product quality and to identify its competitive advantage the automotive industry has to offer. Data used in the research are obtained through random sampling of questionnaires to car users and data analyses. QFD approach is further applied. An objective method which serves to upgrade the quality of the product and reduce costs is herein presented to the automotive industry. The main purpose of presenting this essay is :
1. It is necessary for automotive industry’s management to listen the demand of car customers.
2. Applied QFD to upgrade automotive industry’s product quality and to identify its competitive advantage.
3. Target its competitive advantages of the automotive industry in the future market.
