Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 織品服裝學系 === 94 === Most of the textile companies in Taiwan are small to medium sized. They consistently create foreign reserves for Taiwan, and provide job opportunities for basic labors. So textile industry is very important to the Taiwan industrial structure. The northern Taiwan textile producers are mostly located in Tu-chen、Shu-lin、Kwei-shan、Ta-yung、Kuan-yin, whereas the intermediate and trading companies are clustered within Taipei city and Taipei county. The trading activities between these companies are frequent and close. For a long time, the organizational network relationship between these companies exists in different forms and operates smoothly. But do the companies within the industrial cluster have higher competitive advantage than other companies?
So, the main motivation of this thesis is to research how textile companies can operate and maintain organizational network in order to raise their competitiveness. The cancellation of the textile products quota and the restructuring of the supply-chain induce the environmental uncertainties of the industry; so, the impact of every facet of network relationship on the corporation competitiveness is worth discussing.
This research is based on northern Taiwan textile industry. We have sent out 290 questionnaires to the Di-Hua textile market, and collected back 151. After explanatory statistics and regression analysis, we have come up with the following fingings:
1. Network relationships have strong positive correlation with corporation competitiveness for the companies within and outside the industrial clusters.
2. The strength of correlation between network relationship and corporation competitiveness will be higher when environmental uncertainties raise.
3. In highly uncertain environment, the more diverse of the corporate network, the weaken the competitiveness will be.
4. Under the uncertain environment, strengthen the network mutual benefits will enhance the competitiveness more for the companies within the cluster than the companies outside the cluster.
Taiwan’s economy is rooted and supported by a few large corporate and other satellite small to medium companies. I hope this research could have some help for the small and medium textile companies in Taiwan; so that we can create more job opportunities together.
