Experiences on class registration will influence students’ satisfaction and the reputation of universities The purposes of this paper are: 1. understanding current status of course election related services; 2. understanding student satisfaction on course election; 3. thereby enabling election system and service improvements which will lead to higher satisfaction levels. The questionnaires of survey are formulated from interviewing with student representatives. Samples were drawed from undergraduate students from Fu-Jen Catholic University. The data analysis of this research is using descriptive statistics, Cross Analysis, and Ridit Analysis. Results of this study are: 1. Viewed in aspect of course election system, the highest satisfaction is that “system provides necessary information”. However, the lowest satisfaction is that “students always urgently register for classes as soon as their election appointment time/date arose. 2. Viewed in aspect of class registration polices and practice, the highest satisfaction is that “seniors have the priority for course election. On the other hand, the lowest satisfaction is that “sophomores and juniors are assigned to access course election system at the same period of time.” 3. Viewed in aspect of course election support and service, the highest satisfaction is that “students have an opportunity to access FJU course website for information on courses, class times and other information before their enrolment appointment date/time.” Nevertheless, the lowest satisfaction is that “administrative staff couldn’t offer satisfactory responses.” 4. Different year students at university have different perspectives of course election system and service. Particularly there are four factors: level of system response time, system ease of use, BBS user interface, and prompt message from system. Generally freshmen are satisfied with level of system response time; on the other hand, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are not. Moreover, sophomores and seniors are satisfied with system ease of use and BBS user interface, but freshmen and juniors are not. Furthermore, seniors are satisfied with prompt messages from system, but freshmen, sophomores, and junior are not. 5. Mostly respondents’ views of course election time/date are not much different, but not for factor of “first-access and first-registered” for the classes. The result shows that juniors and seniors strongly agree with the policy of “first-access and first-registered” course election system, but freshmen and sophomores do not. 6. Satisfaction levels of subject system support or help service are variable from students. Especially there are four factors: promotion on FJU course website, importance of printed information, practicability of course information online search, and efficiency of subject information online search. Only freshmen strongly agree with printed information. Moreover, sophomores, juniors, and seniors strongly agree with practicability and efficiency of subject information online search. In addition, juniors and seniors know how to seek course information on the FJU course website. Ji-Tsung Ben Wu 吳濟聰 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW
