Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 物理學系 === 94 === A projection system for full colour image display comprises a light source、an illumination optical system、polarizing beam splitters and light valves. There are two kinds of projection systems, transmittive type and reflective type. Transmittive type projection displays employ mainly transmittive light valves, such as LCD panels. And reflective - type projection displays employ reflective light valves, such as LCOS panels which offer many advantages such as high aperture ratio, high light efficiency and good projection image quality.
The basic structure of LCOS rear projector TV needs a mini projector installed in a cabinet that includes an illumination optical system and a projector lens. The high-resolution LCOS image is imaged onto the TV screen.
We use Lens array to design an illumination optical system and control F/#. Because of shorter throw distance wider FOV of lens is required. Use two-group lens formula to design a wide angle projector lens .The first group is negative and second group is positive. It’s back focal length is longer than the effective focal length. And PBS can be put into the wide angle projector lens to modulate LCOS image.
