The subjects were 787 junior high school students who lived with their mothers in Taipei City or Taipei County. First of all, the results showed, adolescents perceived that their mothers performed an above average frequency of “warmth/ inductive reasoning” and “monitoring”, and adolescents rarely perceived their mothers performed “harsh corporal punishment”. Moreover, in the aspects of maternal attachment, adolescents perceived a high level of “trust/ communication”. On the other hand, few of them felt “alienation”. As for their subjective well-being, adolescents perceived a high level of “The satisfaction with life”, above average frequency of “positive affect” and below the middle level of “negative affect”. Secondly, adolescent perceptions of most aspects of maternal parenting practice and maternal attachment were significantly correlated with aspects of their subjective well-being, except maternal parenting practice of “monitoring” did not significantly correlated with “negative affect”. Finally, adolescent perceptions of maternal parenting practices of “warmth/ inductive reasoning” and maternal attachment of “trust/ communication” had significant positive effects on the aspects of “The satisfaction with life” and “positive affect”. In addition, adolescent perceptions of maternal attachment of “alienation” had significant negative effect on the aspect of “The satisfaction with life”, as well as adolescent perceptions of maternal parenting practice of “harsh corporal punishment” and maternal attachment of “alienation” had significant effects on “negative affect”.
