Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 都市計畫所 === 94 === In the past, due to the advantages in transportation and location factors, the city center traditionally as the central business district (CBD) of a city. However, as the city grows, the decay of the CBD now is a common phenomenon in almost all mature cities. Taichung, as the third largest city in Taiwan, is also facing the same situation, regardless the city government had put a lot of effort in reviving its CBD.
In this study, an attempt is made to explore the possible development strategies to revive the CBD of Taichung with the CA simulation methodology. According to the analysis results, it shows that the development patterns are insensitive to the internal interactions within the CBD. Therefore, in order to revive the CBD of Taichung, the external policy influences and, especially, the policy to encourage the vacant stores to reopen is crucial in any policy design.
