Pregnancy, the continuity of life, is the task that a woman accomplishes with great strength and courage. It is not only delightful but also toilsome during the natural and noble pregnancy process: some women never felt discomforts in the process while the others underwent different tortures such as infecundity, artificial insemination, vomiting during pregnancy, a venous aneurysm, bleeding, pregnancy following a heart attack, an abortion, a difficult delivery, hysterorrhexis and even death. It is joyful for a mother to give birth a healthy baby after ten-month pregnancy; nevertheless, the families will sigh and sob if they suffer the lost of a baby and mother in the meantime. A Taiwanese verb ” If the childbirth goes smoothly, the mother will be carefully served tonic﹔if not, the King Of Hell is waiting for her . ” can best describe the danger of a childbirth. First, the research will discuss the women’s physiological phenomena of pregnancy. Second, it will criticize the traditional concept-men are more important than women, and women’s anxieties brought about by it. Finally, it will call upon that women should decide on their own generate with more self-consciousness. In the creative part, the researcher will show the pressure of having a son to carry on the family name imposed upon a modern woman by oil painting. The researcher’s painful, sorrowful and even hopeless process of pregnancy will be expressed by Neo-expressionism. Besides, the researcher want to express her respect to all esteemed mothers and hope the children will understand their mothers’ pain of childbirth.
