Summary:碩士 === 致遠管理學院 === 教育研究所 === 94 === The main purpose of this research was to explore the influences of variables of personal background, including the structure of family, the living area, the category of tribe, the order of birth, and the disposition of gender distinction and the variables of fatherhood, including the social status of father, the marital status of parents, the ways of father's discipline, the time of interaction between father and son, and the relationship between father and son on the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students in Tainan. The subjects of the study are male students from 20 the senior high school in Tainan. The instrument adopted for the study was "A Questionnaire of Fatherhood Cognition of Senior High Male Students." 1100 out of 1200 questionnaires were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson productmoment correlation, analysis of variance, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows: A. The fatherhood cognition of senior high male students in Tainan has a great influence on the whole level and "family raising and modeling"and"companionship and support" respectiviely. B. As far as the influences of different variables of personal background on the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students are concerned, the result of this study shows that the greatest influence on that is the disposition of gender distinction followed by the category of tribe, the order of birth, and the living area. However, the structure of family does not have an influence on the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students. C. As far as the influences of different variables of fatherhood on the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students are concerned, the result of the research shows that the marital status of parents, the ways of father's discipline and the relationship between father and son have the greatest influences on the fatherhood cognition followed by the relationship between father and son and the social status of father has the least influence. D. Based on the variables of personal background of the senior high male students and the variables of fatherhood related to the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students, it can be predicted that the main variables of the fatherhood cognition of senior high male students are the ways of father's discipline, the relationship between father and son, the category of tribe, the social status of father, the marital status, the disposition of gender distinction. Among all, the most predictive and significant factor is the ways of a father's discipline followed by the relationship between father and son, the category of tribe, the social status of father. On the other hand, the marital status and the disposition of gender distinction can only predict to a certain extent.
