Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 醫學工程研究所 === 94 === The advance of information technology has greatly extended the time that people stare at computer screen. There are more and more people suffering the computer vision syndrome due to long term usage of computer. The purpose of this study is to develop a simple and low cost measurement system for studying the computer use-related eye strain. The reaction of eyeballs while watching animation on a computer screen can be recorded and analyzed. The near synkinetic response of eyes was demonstrated by training volunteers to eye track moving objects on a liquid crystal computer display. Pupil size is evaluated by transferring each eyeball image into binary image, so the area of pupil can be easily marked out. A change in diopter of eye was also measured before and after the eye tracking experiment. The results show that even just stare at monitor screen for a short period of time, it still can cause a measurable effect on eye sight.
