The power quality is getting worse by the harmonics increasing in current. Several researches for solving this problem have been presented in recent years. The most popular one among these researches is adopting shunt active power filter. The key point of deciding the effectiveness of shunt active power filter is depending on how to determine the reference compensating current. To solve this problem, this thesis utilizes the digit signal processor to develop a set of judgment rules. These judgment rules are based on tables of standard parameters and law of proportion of slope. According to these rules, a compensation current can be decided directly and quickly.
