Summary: | 碩士 === 中國技術學院 === 建築研究所 === 94 === Currently, the most commonly used seismic isolation device in the domestic market is lead rubber bearing. The best any architect could do is to engage in analysis and design based on the availability of seismic isolation device provided by the supplier. Hence the problem of how best to select the most suitable seismic device, and installation of its thickness on rubber and steel plate and the lead bearing diameter with regard to design and selection of seismic device are to be tackled with, to accommodate the requirement on displacement design, under various specifications of lead rubber bearing on seismic isolation device, along with its impact on building seismic isolation effectiveness.
This research establishes a computer simulation model on lead rubber bearing through Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA) and SAP2000, a computer program for numerical analysis. In the case of lead rubber bearing with diameter in 1000mm and 1100 mm, shear modulus of elasticity G3.9kN/mm2, by adjusting its total rubber thickness (Tr ), steel plate thickness (tr) and lead bearing diameter (lp), which are all shape specific factors, we conducted numerical simulation on horizontal shear testing and vertical compression testing. And research finding indicates: the higher the number of combined layers between seismic isolation rubber and steel plate, the greater the horizontal displacement it produces, and vertical stiffness increases accordingly, which in turn enhances building load capacity. The greater the diameter of lead bearing, the better damping effect it provides, which elevates the capability of seismic isolation device.
Since DDA falls within the realm of linear analysis, it’s virtually impossible to acquire the turning point of shape specific factors, thus unable to confirm the scope of seismic isolation device while obtaining only the trend of deformation and size against exertion. Wherefore it’s more appropriate to go with recommended data derived from experimentation as far as the scope of S1 and S2 (shape coefficient) and thickness ratio between steel plate and rubber are concerned when it comes to the using and designing of seismic isolation device.
