Efforts were taken for the three main aspects of this study. First, related literature was reviewed for the concepts and theory about allegory as well as its forms of expression. Second, allegory paintings of both traditional and contemporary styles were submitted to the inquiry for their formal and content properties. Third, and the last, the Chinese fable "Ku-Fu''s Chasing After the Sun" was taken as the theme for a series of creative works, with some of the subject maters implying the lyrical events in early history of Taiwan. In the course of this creative study, the author was deeply convinced that the allegoric style of expression could help enrich the expressive content of a work of art, encourage innovation on the style, and enable the artist to make fusion of his emotion and ideas in the process of painting. In addition, the author also deeply sensed that a creative work of art should reveal the artist''s innermost sense of life, while the artist should advance his life experience, in order to expand his artistic vision and excite his career. Finally, the author urged himself to make best use of allegorical implication for reality in life to create a new era of his art practice, and as the lasting effort and feedback to the art culture of his own community.
