Four different turbulence models are examined in the present study. A new turbulence model is proposed through the modification of near wall damping function fm from the existing models. Computed results indicate that the flow over a 3D backward facing step with an expansion ratio of 1.3 and an aspect ratio of 4 is asymmetric and three-dimensional.
