碩士 === 中華大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 94 === Abstract Picture archiving and communication system (PACS) has some advantages, for example ,viewing these images at the same time, saving storage cost and images can be distributed to physicians more rapidly and the patients will get much better quality care. The main purpose of the study is to evaluate a benefit analysis of PACS conduction on health-care institutions. This study evaluates extra benefits and internal benefits through literature discussion and expert questionnaire survey. The total benefits are divided to evaluate external benefits and internal benefits. The internal benefits include (1)saving labor cost , storage space cost and disposable material cost (2)upgrading the safety of storage (3)raising the professional image of hospitals (4)enhancing practice efficiency. The external benefits include (1)improving patient satisfaction (2)the future needs for Electronic Patient Record (3)less pollution (4) telemedicine and inter-hospital consultations. The results of this study can be used as basis for health-care institutions to promote and evaluate PACS. Keyword: PACS, health-care institution, benefit analysiS
