Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士班 === 94 === With the rapid development of computer and information technologies, information technology-applied instruction has become an important issue. One of the most essential approaches in conducting such tutoring strategies is using computerized teaching materials for in-class instructions. However, for those teachers who are not familiar with word processing software, making computerized teaching materials is an extremely time-consuming work, which is likely to decrease the teacher’s willingness for applying the new teaching strategy. In this thesis, a text abstraction algorithm is proposed to effectively extract important sentences from teaching materials and automatically composing computerized presentation files. Moreover, a computer system based on the proposed algorithm has been implemented, which can extract those important features (including text, figures and tables) from the original teaching material and generate the slides for in-class instructions. Experiments show that TASTA effectively reduces about 40% of time needed for teachers to create a computerized presentation file, which implies the teachers’ loading can be significantly reduced. Therefore, we conclude that our novel approach is helpful to the teachers in applying information technology to instructions.
