碩士 === 中華大學 === 建築與都市計畫學系碩士班 === 94 === The objective of this research is using the concept of “layering” to analyze the constitution of landscape design, and then proposing the complementary design method. The landscape design could be viewed as the arrangement of spatial form and substantial elements. The spatial form which describes the relations of spaces includes base-layer, node-layer, and path-layer. The substantial elements which make the space with materials could be grouped into element-layer. This research uses the four layers to compose and decompose the landscape design. Finally, a practice on zhuo-zheng-yuan, a Chinese traditional garden design, will be proposed by using two different design methods which are path-layer first and node-layer first. The conclusions present the advantages and distinctions between two design exercises.
