By that time, the health-related governmental agencies faced an immense challenge. Disease control has become a critical issue for governments around the world. Governments need to be sufficiently prepared to prevent the spread of new infectious diseases. Successful disease control necessitates a well-structured organization designed for disease control so that relevant plans can be implemented efficiently and resources properly allocated. This research aims to construct a simplified examination model of organizational structure for disease control. The developed model can be used to examine the current organizational structure of Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Taiwan and other countries. The research findings are as following: First of all, the “Information” branch in the CDC of Taiwan needs to improve the capacity to transform data into information; Secondly, the “Operation” branch needs to expand their connection with the public or community resources so that the public will be better prepared to cope with the outbreak of new infectious diseases. Finally, the “Executive” center in the CDC of Taiwan needs to improve its capabilities in project and research management so that it is better able to cope with the variety of infectious diseases likely to emerge in the 21st century.
