Yet the digital tools to assist the industrial design practical course are not widely applied but focus majorly on off-line instructing and computer-aied design, failing to reflecting the requirements of design practical design teachine. Moreover, the application of the digital tools on the education is aimed to reply the failure of traditional curriculum. Hence, if we want to carry out the digital tools to assist design education, we should find out the failures of the traditional industrial design practiced curriculum. The digital tools can correspond to the needs for design practiced curriculum then promote effects from the design practiced curriculum. Based on the background as above, this research emphasis on the understanding of the failures of the traditional design practiced curriculum. And also refer to how the digital tools can assist the failures. In order to achieve the goals of this research, firstly we confer to the related literatures, then interviewing the teachers with design practiced experience and students. To understand the failures of the traditional design practiced curriculum these days and how the digital tools can help the failures. The results indicated that the teachers with design practiced experience think the failure that happen in the conceptualization phase in the traditional design practiced curriculum are more important. And the digital tools complement the failures in the conceptualization phase are quite a few. The assistance can be improved in the 3 directions: teachers, students, and teaching resources. Finally, this research makes the suggestions about the digital tools to assist the traditional design practiced curriculum. This research looks forward to improve the effects of the traditional design practiced curriculum.
