Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 外國文學所 === 94 === ABSTRACT The study aimed at examining four teacher teams as a spectrum to analyze team teaching in the English Schweitzer Program in Nantou County. Four Schweitzer teachers and four non-native English-speaking teachers were involved in the study. The data collection procedures included analysis of the videotaping and interviewing the teacher participants. The results were discussed in four dimensions regarding the roles of team teachers, the team teaching patterns, the extent of English input, and the team effectiveness. Findings of the study indicated that the roles that the team teachers played ranged from 5 to 11 role types. According to the teacher roles, four team teaching patterns were identified. Among these four teams, one team displayed the most extent of English input in both the quantity and the quality. Out of the 28 items in Critical Elements for an Effective EFL Teaching Team, these four teams fulfilled 3, 7, 22, and 26 items respectively. The conclusion of this study indicated that teachers who implemented various roles and complementary patterns in teamwork could consequently provide appropriate English input and achieve higher team effectiveness in an EFL context. This study led to implications for policy makers, practitioners, and researchers in the same field, and suggestions for further research were made.
