碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 成人及繼續教育所 === 94 === Abstract This study is a case study to explore Non-Profit Organization, Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung, developing community adult education. The main purposes are as follows: 1. to explore the background and context of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung 2. to analyze styles and models of community adult education for Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung 3. to explore the roles, functions for Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung 4. to analyze influences and obstacles of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung 5. to give some suggestions for Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung to develop community adult education. Literature review and interviews methods are employed to study Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung. The conclusions of this study follow as: 1. Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung has abundant historical and artistic community background combined with residents’ living styles. Developing community adult education creates unique educational styles of localizing, living, and internationalizing. 2. Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung develops community adult education by the styles of community, nation wide, and internationalization, Lovett and Martin’s educational model and Dean and Dowling’s model. 3. The roles of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung developing community adult education are folk culture connector, community activity facilitator, vision and resources developer, and community philanthropy guard. 4. Functions of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung for government policy making are to cultivate community human resources, to reward social and educational persons, to advocate clean environment, to develop community construction, to direct community residents’ cooperation, to provide community activities for local community adult education activities, to fulfill the vision of the fund promoting community residents lifelong learning, to meet community needs and policy, to integrate government and private resources, and to conform community issues. 5. The characteristics of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung are the commitment of its vision, democratic working model, flexible and open participation, activities directed by most volunteers, integrate government and community resources, and valuable program developing process. 6. Influences of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung are to develop local education for recall residents’ collective memories, to extend folk skills, to enhance residents’ understanding of traditional folk, to develop artistic shows, activities improving bad aspect of community, to develop community culture and business to be internationalized and to expand residents’ international perspective, to make effort of community environment reform enhancing community vitality. 7. The obstacles of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung are direction of development, adult learning needs, financial problem, lack of faculty, construction of their own building, admission of in-service training, disadvantaged group participations, lifelong education and passing down of folk skills. Suggestions for Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung developing community adult education: 1. Think and organize the position and direction responding to multiple social change. 2. Evaluate adults’ needs and motives before executing government activities. 3. Develop multiple financial ways and utilize media marketing for enterprise donation. 4. Increase organizational faculty to reduce loading and facilitate the development of business. 5. Construct their own building to appeal to residents’ learning participation and facilitate the development of organization. 6. Construct the database of teachers, develop curriculum designs, and acquire certificate of in-service training. 7. Take more resources and increase more learning opportunities for disadvantaged adult learners. 8. Enhance training of community traditional folk skills. 9. Build lifelong learning system and utilize retire human resources. Suggestions for Non-Profit Organization developing community adult education: 1. The successful experience of Culture ＆ Education Foundation Minhsung is valuable and can be learned. 2. Community adult education should respond and meet residents’ needs. 3. Community adult education should cultivate local community civil consciousness. 4. Increase recruitment and training of community volunteers to expand organizational human resources. 5. Non-Profit Organization developing community adult education should have competence of taking risks and challenges. 6. Provide multiple services for learners to improve participators’ lifelong learning. 7. Develop community adult learning activities should develop learning organization team. Suggestions for further study: 1. To explore strategies of Non-Profit Organization developing community adult education by resource network model. 2. To explore access of Non-Profit Organization developing community adult education by perspectives of cooperative partnership.
