Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計系碩士班 === 93 === The principle objectives of a museum include improved customer service, better collections access and the development of outreach facilities Therefore, how to deliver useful information and knowledge to unguided audiences in the most effective and efficient form becomes very important. “In-depth interview” and “questionnaire” methods were carry to identify visitors’ needs in terms of what was required for an information system in the National Palace Museum. The results were as follow: 1.Native visitors’ information needs: including the exhibition information, parking information, information about leisure activities and facilities, and using guide books and sign system. 2.Foreign visitors’ information needs: including the exhibition information, traffic information, multilingual signage system, audio guidance and interactive multimedia, introduction of overall eras for historical exhibitions, and using maps and floor plans. 3.Information system for navigation and facilities; external access to information is required to assist in planning visits to the Museum; multilingual labels; and pictorial explanatory labels and signage.
