Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 營建工程系碩士班 === 93 === Pure alkali activated slag, no cement, was used in making the grout and mortar in the test of this study. Through delicate calculation according to the weight ratios of alkali/slag, SiO2/Na2O, and water/slag, the weights of the ingredients, slag, water, SiO2, Na2O and standard sand, of pure alkali activated slag grout or mortar were determined. The mechanic properties of the grout were characterized including consistency, initial setting time, and final setting time. The flow, and compressive strength for 3, 7, and 28 days of the mortar were also tested. Ratios of alkali/slag, SiO2/Na2O, and water/slag were controlled as the parameters. Results were derived indicating various effects of the ratios on the properties of the alkali activated slag grout or mortar. The major contribution of this work is establishing a data base for determining the ingredients to optimize the behavior of the pure alkali activated slag depending on the purpose of adopting it. The source of cement is limited on earth and reducing. Manufacturing of cement causes great amount of carbon dioxide released to the atmosphere. It was verified that as long as the ratios of the ingredients are properly arranged, the by-product of steel industry, slag, can be used in replacing cement in producing concrete of acceptable quality.
