Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 資訊管理系碩士班 === 93 === An appropriate model on the theory of Topic Maps (ISO/IEC 13250) is adopted in this study. It''s considered to process and organize a mass on-line documents well to provide users a more readable and reasonable presentation. In the first, this study applies Topic Detection and Tracking (TDT) technique to group on-line news reports into different clusters based on news event. TMs-extract System proposed in this study then generates event-based Topic Maps extracted from each event. Readers could rapidly make sense of the main topics for discussion in this event through the Topic Maps. It also effectively avoids that a lapse of the pen made by reporter confused readers, and therefore advances quality of readings.
In order to reduce processing load of TDT and expand related scope of Topic Maps, TMs-merge System is designed in this study. The Topic Maps will be merged via this system, if subjects defined in the scope of two Topic Maps are similar enough. After merging related events and follow-up events will be associated and tracked in the same subjects discussed by these events. Not only could it even provide more extensive scope of the subjects than single event but it also could drill down as detailed as single event. Hence, readers could track related issues or cause and effect events to understand their concerned subjects.
In this study browsing and searching capability of web-based user interface is suitably designed for the model. Topic Maps is presented in a graphic, center-outward-distribution display and provides a hyper-link function of occurrences. Besides, inverted file search is combined with multi-values conditions. All of these are expected to provide users an entire news report portal.
In evaluating phase of this study, a web-based user interface is published for evaluating in a week. The number of the returned Questionnaires is 174. The evaluating result is presented in a high satisfaction. And the purpose of this study is verified by this evaluation.
