Description
Summary:碩士 === 萬能科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 93 === The TFT-LCD industry is a very high-tech one that is developing quite rapidly. A firm’s performance in that industry not only influences the expansion of its production scale, but also affects its own future funding. Therefore, for the purpose of understanding the performance of the TFT-LCD industry in detail, this study examines five leading TFT-LCD manufacturers in Taiwan (AUO, CMO, CPT, HannStar, and QDI) by applying the Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) for the objective selection of indicators and a two-stage DEA for the evaluation of the efficiency of DMUs (decision making units) in order that appropriate indicators can be assigned into the respective two stages that comprise efficiency and effectiveness. Through such an analysis, the performance of the research subjects can be investigated from the perspectives of production and sales, and they can be also taken as important references for management. The analytical results show that AUO in 2002 and 2003 and CPT in 2000 had better performance than the other DMUs in both the efficiency and effectiveness stages, and they each have an efficiency of 1. Finally, managerial implications based on the analytical results are also provided.
