The scheme includes enhancing fingerprint image and generating a share image to retrieve fingerprint image. If unauthorized copies are found later, the origin of the copy can be determined by the retrieved fingerprint image. In the thesis, fingerprint image enhancement technique is employed prior to feature extraction to obtain a more reliable estimation of feature locations. In addition, the thesis employs correction to reform the quality of the fingerprint image. The experimental results show that the scheme can withstand 9 kinds of common image processing operations, including JPGE compression, blurring, sharpening, cropping, scaling, pinch, punch, “row and column shifting,” and “rotation and scaling.” In the experimental results, the acceptance rate is up to 99%.
